The Human Rights Movement Bir Duino-Kyrgyzstan invites you to attend the opening ceremony of the XIII International Festival of Documentary Films on Human Rights “Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan-2019”,
This year the festival is dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The slogan of the festival is “Voices of Children and Equal Participation”.
The festival will feature over 20 documentaries from 10 countries, covering the rights of children, children with disabilities, children of migrants, refugees, as well as films that reflect innovative methods of solving systemic problems in the field of protecting children's rights, both in Kyrgyzstan and at the regional and international levels.
In addition to the screenings, 15 seminars on the observance of children's rights, discussions, Italks, talk shows, trainings on topical issues of the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child will be held as part of the festival. The topics of the seminars cover the issues of climate change, its impact on empowering women and children through the promotion of gender equality, child-friendly justice and access to medical and social services, the possibility of developing children's parliaments, and the development of youth initiatives.
The main events of the Festival:
• Opening ceremony at the Damas Hotel on 11 November 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (107 Zhumabek St.).
• Closing ceremony in the Imperial Hall of the Dostuk Hotel on 15 November 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (429 Ibraimov St.).
• Screenings of the films will take place in the Rossiya movie theater during the period 11 - 15 November 2019 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (the schedule is attached).
• The seminars and trainings will be conducted from 11th to 15th November 2019 (the schedule is attached).
