The East Silver Caravan film KIX making waves with two big wins: the Moral Approach Award at MakeDox and the Harrell Award at CIFF. Ex Oriente 2020 Alumni Film Premieres at Astra Film Festival
|

We’re excited to announce that Leo Records: Strictly for Our Friends, a project from the Ex Oriente 2020 workshop, will premiere at this year’s Astra Film Festival, held from October 20-27, 2024! Directed by Ioana Grigore and produced by Lazăr Marcian of Axel Film, the documentary will compete in the prestigious Central & Eastern European Competition. Don’t miss this chance to see an inspiring film that delves deep into the world of music, friendship, and the iconic Leo Records label.

Meet the Tutuors for Ex Oriente Film 2nd Session
|
|
We are thrilled to announce the confirmed guest tutors for the 2nd session of the Ex Oriente Film!
The tutors joining the Ex Oriente Film Feature Docs and Docuseries programme will be among others Iikka Vehkalahti, Filip Remunda, Ivana Pauerová Miloševičová, Diana El Jeiroudi, Christian Popp, Per K.Kirkegaard, Ümit Uludag, Christila Huillard-Kann, Hubert Sauper, Ruth Reid, Chris Westendorp, Eleonora Savi, Stefano Strocchi.
Both training programs, Ex Oriente Feature Docs and Ex Oriente Series, will be held in Leipzig, marking the second year of our partnership with DOK Leipzig.

KineDok: 10 years with documentary film
|
|
This year marks the 10th anniversary of our alternative distribution project KineDok, which brings unique documentary films to unusual places - galleries, cafés, boats or even castles. Over the years, KineDok has created a place for film, discussion and community across Europe. Join us in a toast and celebration on 17 October at Prague's Čítárna Unijazz at 7 PM. Entrance is free!
