THE HUMAN RIGHTS MOVEMENT BIR DUINO-KYRGYZSTAN ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ENTRIES FOR THE XVI INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF DOCUMENTARY FILMS ON HUMAN RIGHTS "BIR DUINO 2022
Май 31.2022The organizing committee of the festival identified the theme for 2022:
“Climate and crises: the situation of the fundamental rights of citizens, alternatives for the SDGs”.
The world has changed, the difficulties and risks associated with climate change and the scale of the impact of COVID 2019 on people's lives and safety, political crises and the consequences they have on the population of Central Asian countries remain dilemmas and require deep analysis, reflection, new approaches for positive change primarily at the local level.
Citizens living in risk and disaster zones need their voices and equal participation to effectively address socially significant problems in communities, with a new methodology "from local to global". The most vulnerable in risks, conflicts and disasters are women and children, the elderly and people with disabilities, so it is important to localize development programs to strengthen and engage horizontal leadership without discrimination.
The festival is held by the "Human Rights Movement: Bir Duino-Kyrgyzstan". In recent years the festival has been held with the support of the Swiss Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, together with solidarity networks WLP (Women's Learning Partnership), FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights), CSP (The Civic Solidarity Platform), Forum-Asia, GNDR (The Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction), BICE (International Catholic Child Bureau), International Monitoring Mission on Labor Rights in Central Asia.
